Worker found dead after Leeds ‘farm accident’

POLICE and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the death of a man at a farm on the outskirts of Leeds.

Worker Robert Gawthorpe, 24, died at Calverley House Farm, on Town Gate, Calverley, on Monday.

It is thought he suffered fatal injuries in an accident.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Shortly after 2pm on Monday, police were contacted by the ambulance service who were attending a farm in Town Gate, Calverley.

“A 24-year-old male employee was found dead.

“The coroner has been informed and a joint investigation is being conducted by West Yorkshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive.”
