1D star’s mother and babies “well”

A Yorkshire hospital where the half-twin siblings of a One Direction star were born says the babies are “doing well.”

Barnsley Hospital was put on the map earlier this week when Johanna Poulston, the mother of Louis Tomlinson, gave birth to twins.

The popstar was reportedly delighted he was in the country when the babies arrived prematurely at the South Yorkshire hospital.

A spokesperson for Barnsley Hospital said: “We are delighted to confirm that twins Ernest and Doris Deakin were born here on Monday to Louis Tomlinson’s mother Johanna Poulston and her partner Daniel Deakin.

“It’s fantastic that the family chose for the babies to be born here at Barnsley Hospital and we are pleased that the babies and their mother are doing well.

“We wish all the family the very best and ask that people respect their privacy at this time.”

Mr Tomlinson, who hails from Doncaster, already has four younger half-sisters – including a set of twins.

The star’s mother has been with partner Mr Deakin, 30, for two years.

A spokesman for Mr Tomlinson said earlier this week: “Daniel and Johanna are pleased to welcome twins – a boy Ernest Rupert Atholl Deakin and a girl Doris Poppet Deakin.”

Ernest weighed 5lbs 2oz while Doris was smaller, at 4lbs 11oz.

Meanwhile their famous half-brother is preparing for his Doncaster Rovers debut later this month.
