Winkleman rules out any figure-hugging dresses

CLAUDIA WINKLEMAN has claimed she prefers to be “hidden, physically” even though she is set to co-host the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The presenter, who will join Tess Daly on the prime time Saturday night dancing show, also described her trademark fringe as her “poncho”.

Ms Winkleman was adamant she will never be seen in a bright figure-hugging outfit, and said: “I prefer to be hidden, physically. Let’s just say you’re never going to find me in an Herve Leger sky-blue bandage dress, a high pony and heels.

“You might find me slouched in the corner in a poncho. That’s what my fringe is: a poncho.”

Asked why she works in television, she claimed she is a “mass of contradictions”.

The presenter described Ms Daly as “adorable”, and added: “We get on brilliantly and look after each other. She’s got the best body you’ve ever seen in your life.”

The new series will be the first without veteran host Sir Bruce Forsyth when it returns to BBC1 next Sunday at 8pm.

Ms Daly has co-hosted the show with Sir Bruce, 86, since it began in 2004 and was joined by Ms Winkleman in 2011 to present the Sunday night results shows.
