JEREMY Clarkson’s career-defining fracas has been immortalised in metal, according to a social media post by the Yorkshire Dales hotel where the infamous brawl took place.

Simonstone Hall shared a picture of a plaque in a Facebook post which reads: “Here lies the BBC career of Jeremy Clarkson. Who had a fracas on this spot 4th March 2015. The rest is legend.”

The former Top Gear host was sacked by the BBC for punching producer Oisin Tymon in a row over a steak dinner at the North Yorkshire hotel in March.

The country house hotel, which describes itself as the “ultimate tranquil retreat”, wrote: “We were presented with this plaque from one of our guests last night!

“We think it would be quite appropriate to put it on the patio where the fracas took place!!”

The donor is believed to be an anonymous visitor.
