Video: CCTV catches moment drunk driver crashes into chip shop
Two staff members ran out of the Eagles fish and chip shop in Boston, Lincs, after the silver Honda Accord smashed into the building. The driver was caught and held down until police arrived on the scene. Raimonhas Gailrunas, 26, was charged with driving a vehicle with alcohol above the limit, driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after a road accident and driving without insurance. He pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates Court last Friday (25/9), and received an 18 month driving ban and a community order. The collision left a gaping hole in the front of the restaurant, which has now been boarded up.
