VIDEO: New Doctor Who trailer gives fans first glimpse of Sheffield-filmed sci-fi hit

Doctor Who fans have been given their first glimpse of new Time Lord Jodie Whittaker - and Sheffield is set to feature heavily in the new series.

Lovers of the long-running BBC1 hit have been raving about the 40-second clip - released on Twitter - which unveils Whittaker as the first female doctor and her new band of companions.

And one of them, is a Sheffield teenager who lives at the city's famous Park Hill flats.

"She asks for a bit more from life and she gets a bit more.

"She's whisked on an adventure with people who become her famlly. And she idolises the Doctor."

Fans flocked to Park Hill to catch a glimpse of the star who was unveiled as the 13th Doctor last Christmas, taking over the famed role from actor Peter Capaldi.
