Warning over drain repair
tricksters

People are being warned to be on their guard against bogus callers preying on victims in Bradford.

Yorkshire Water has been alerted to the problem by customers in the Bradford Moor and Laisterdyke areas of the city.

The company is aware of people knocking on doors offering to carry out repairs to customers’ drainage pipes for a charge.

Yorkshire Water is working on a multi-million pound scheme in the area that will see a large proportion of its sewer network inspected and rejuvenated to help minimise the risk of flooding in the future. However, all of this work is being done free of charge, and only after it has been agreed with customers.

Genuine Yorkshire Water and contractor employees carry identification which the company says can and should always be verified by customers calling 0800 1387878.
