TWO human feet found washed up hundreds of miles apart have been matched to a university graduate who went missing two years ago.

Jason Morley, 28, was last seen by his girlfriend in December 2008 when she left home to go to work, and his car was later found abandoned at the Humber Bridge.

His left foot was found by a tourist on the island of Terschelling, off the northern coast of Holland, on September 11, a month after his right foot was discovered by a member of the public on Cleethorpes beach.

Both feet were in training shoes and have been matched to Mr Morley by DNA tests.

Mr Morley, who worked in IT after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in electrical engineering, was reported missing by his family in Lincolnshire, three months after he moved to Carnforth Road, Monk Bretton, Barnsley, to live with his girlfriend.

At the time of his disappearance his mother Maureen said he had just spent Christmas at the family home in Lincolnshire before driving back to South Yorkshire.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: “The right foot found on Cleethorpes beach on Wednesday, August 11, belongs to a man reported missing from the South Yorkshire area in December 2008.”

Police investigations have revealed no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been informed.

Tests in Holland have confirmed the other foot was also Mr Morley’s and his family have been informed.

A third foot was found at Barton, also on the south bank of the River Humber, on September 4.

This was in a brown steel toe-capped boot and has been identified as belonging to a man from Lincolnshire who was last seen in February.
