A customer service contact told one customer in Cookridge: "There is an issue we're investigating with water supply in your area.

"We have had quite a few people calling in your area, that hasn't yet gone on the website.

"There may be a leak somewhere in your area that we aren't aware of.

"We hope to return supply within 6 hours

"It may be cloudy or discoloured when supply does come back, this is due to silt being disturbed at the bottom of the pipes.

"When we do know the cause the website will be updated. We are really sorry."

A further text has gone out to customers in LS16 which states: "Hi, Yorkshire Water here. You may have no water or low pressure in LS16. We will restore supplies as soon as possible.

"Water may return cloudy or discoloured for an hour or two but this will pass."

UPDATE: Yorkshire Water says it has fixed the water supply issue to LS16 as of 12.45pm on Tuesday.

Leeds is currently braced for storms, with three days of heavy rain forecast.
