Sheffield flooding: Woman "worried" as heavy rainfall leaves road flooded

Residents of a street in Sheffield were worried for their homes last night as heavy rainfall caused flooding.

Athol Road was hit severely by rain last night, with Yorkshire Water attending to help clear the water late into the evening.

One resident told the Yorkshire Post she was “getting worried” when the rain arrived and used social media to alert Yorkshire Water.

In a tweet, she said: “Never seen my road this bad before.”
