Whitby rail scheme starts
WORK on a project to open a second platform at Whitby station to North Yorkshire Moors Railway services is underway.
The £2m scheme will allow NYMR to operate more services to and from the seaside town.
Philip Benham, NYMR general manager, said, “We are delighted that construction of the second platform at Whitby station has finally commenced, and all the hard work behind the scenes has allowed us get to this exciting stage.”
The new platform is expected to open in the summer.
