Witness appeal over fatal crash

*POLICE have appealed for information after a 51-year-old man died when the car he was driving crashed on the Sheffield Parkway last night.

Officers said the victim was driving in a blue Peugeot 306 on the A57 slip road towards Prince Of Wales Road and Sheffield when the car swerved from the left lane into the right hand lane.

It then mounted the kerb, scraped along the crash barrier and then weaved across the city-bound carriageway of the Parkway which links the city centre with the M1.

The man, from Sheffield, suffered fatal head injuries and died at the scene at around 9.35pm.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the manner of driving prior to the collision should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
