Woman charged with child sexual exploitation offences in Rotherham

A WOMAN has today been charged with a number of offences relating to child sexual exploitation in Rotherham between 1993 and 1995.

Shelley Davies, 40, has been charged with conspiracy to procure a child to become a common prostitute and unlawful imprisonment.

She is also jointly charged with conspiracy to rape alongside 52-year-old Qurban Ali, 58-year-old Karen MacGregor and 40-year-old Arshid Hussain, who were charged yesterday (July 3) with this offence.

The arrests are part of Operation Clover – a joint investigation by South Yorkshire Police in partnership with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and the Crown Prosecution Service.

Davies has been bailed to appear before Rotherham Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 7.
