Woman suffers serious facial injuries in hit-and-run crash in Halifax

A driver who hit a pedestrian in the early hours of Saturday is being hunted by police in West Yorkshire.

A 20-year-old woman sustained serious facial injuries when she was hit by a blue Citroen C2 while crossing Cow Green near to the junction of Silver Street in Halifax at around 5.55am.

The driver failed to stop and drove off towards Pellon Lane.

The injured pedestrian was treated by paramedics and taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. 

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and who may have seen the vehicle immediately after the collision or who has any information about the identity of the driver to come forward. I would also appeal directly to the driver of the blue Citroen C2 to come forward to police.”
