JAN 22 Botanical bliss: It might be the depths of winter, but Glasgow-based artist Roger Palmer will temporarily transform The Tetley’s Atrium Gallery (0113 320 2323, thetetley.org) into a sultry and intense botanical garden.

FEB 17 Threedom: Phoenix Dance bring a triple bill to the West Yorkshire Playhouse (0113 213 7700, wyp.org.uk) in the New Year. It includes Kate Flatt’s Undivided Loves, inspired by Shakespeare’s sonnets and the audience favourite Melt.

FEB 18 Nashville nirvana: Gretchen Peters has been a star of the Nashville music scene for two decades. She is at Sheffield City Hall (0114 2789 789, sheffieldcityhall.co.uk), supported by Guy Clark, Arlo Guthrie and John Prine.

MAR 19 Arena date: Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott visit the First Direct Arena (0844 248 1585, firstdirectarena.com) in Leeds, performing tracks from their two albums plus some Beautiful South classics.
