A66 slip roads to close overnight for maintenance works
Drivers using the A66 near Stockton and Teesside Park are being warned about a series of overnight slip road closures later this month for maintenance and drainage works.
National Highways has announced a number of temporary overnight closures on sections of the A66 in Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough to allow horticulture, drainage and gully emptying works to be carried out safely.
The first closures are due to begin on Monday, May 18, for two nights between 8pm and 6am. During this period, the eastbound and westbound exit and entry slip roads at Boathouse Lane Interchange and Thornaby Road Interchange will be shut at times while horticulture and drainage works take place.
National Highways said signed diversion routes will be in place during the closures.
Further overnight works are planned at Thornaby Road Interchange on Wednesday, May 20, between 8pm and 6am.

The A66 eastbound entry slip road will close while horticulture works are carried out.
A separate overnight closure is also planned at Teesside Park on Thursday, May 21, between 10pm and 6am.
The A66 westbound entry slip road will be closed while gully emptying and drainage works are undertaken.
The restrictions will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles involved in the works, winter maintenance or traffic officer duties.
National Highways said all works are expected to be completed within the stated timescales, although the legal orders allowing the closures can remain in force for up to 18 months.
