Multiple road closures and restrictions planned across York
A series of temporary road closures and traffic restrictions are set to affect locations across York as a range of works get under way.
City of York Council has confirmed a wide programme of temporary traffic measures under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, impacting roads across the city and surrounding areas.
The restrictions include a mix of short-term overnight closures and longer daytime works.
Longer-running works include closures on The Glade until Wednesday (Apr 29) for electricity grid works, and Murton Way and Osbaldwick Village, where daytime restrictions will be in place until Friday (May 1).

Additional measures due to come into force include surface dressing works on Malton Road and in Elvington, as well as closures on roads including Cherry Wood Crescent, Church Street and South Lane in Haxby.
Railway works will also affect Moor Lane Level Crossing in Strensall, while a temporary speed limit will be introduced on sections of the A59 near Hessay.
Across all locations, the council said closures are required to allow works to be carried out safely. Diversion routes will be signposted where necessary, and access for residents and emergency services will be maintained wherever possible.
Further details can be obtained from the council’s highways team.
