Parking and waiting restrictions planned for Otley town centre road

New parking restrictions and disabled parking measures are being proposed for part of Kirkgate in Otley under plans put forward by Leeds City Council.

Leeds City Council has announced proposals to introduce new waiting restrictions and parking arrangements on sections of Kirkgate in Otley.

Under the proposed order, “no waiting at any time” restrictions would be introduced on parts of the east side of Kirkgate between Market Place and Bondgate.

The plans also include new designated parking bays for disabled badge holders and loading vehicles.

A disabled parking and loading bay would operate on parts of both the east and west sides of Kirkgate, with disabled badge parking allowed between 10am and 4pm and loading only permitted between 4pm and midnight.

The council is also proposing a 30-minute time-limited parking bay operating between 8am and 6pm on part of the west side of Kirkgate, with no return permitted within one hour.

A separate disabled badge holder parking place is also planned near Mercury Row.

Leeds City Council said details of the proposals, including plans and the authority’s statement of reasons, are available on request.

People wishing to object to or comment on the proposals have until June 19, 2026 to make representations to the council.
