Skidby roundabout to close overnight for resurfacing works

A key roundabout near Beverley will be closed overnight for several weeks to allow resurfacing works to take place.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced plans to temporarily close Skidby Roundabout, including sections of Main Street and Harland Way, to carry out final surfacing works.

The restrictions will come into force from Monday (Apr 27), with closures in place overnight only between 7pm and 5am.

The works are expected to be completed by Friday (May 22), although the order allows for a maximum duration of 18 months if required.

During the closures, vehicles will be prohibited from travelling through the roundabout and along the affected stretches between Main Street, Beverley Road and Harland Way, around 200 metres west of Skidby Roundabout.

A signed diversion will be in place via Main Street, Beverley Road, Eppleworth Road, West End Road and Harland Way.

The council said the temporary restriction is necessary to ensure the works can be carried out safely. Access will be maintained for residents, pedestrians and emergency services throughout the scheme.

Further information can be obtained from the council’s Highways Customer Care Team.
