Among the first closures is Tudor Road in Acomb, which will shut between 9.30am and 2.30pm on July 27 for highway maintenance. Outgang Lane in Osbaldwick will also close from July 27 to July 29 for telecoms works, while Moor Lane in Woodthorpe will be closed overnight between July 27 and July 29 for water mains works.

Longer-running restrictions include Low Mill Close in York, where closures for water mains works are scheduled between July 27 and August 14, and Millfield Lane in Poppleton, which will be affected by electrical mains works from July 27 until August 30. Sections of footpath at both locations will also be temporarily closed.

Rawcliffe Drive and Rawcliffe Lane in Clifton will also be closed between July 28 and July 30 for highway works.

Further temporary restrictions are planned from August 3, subject to a separate order being made.

These include closures on Eastfield Lane and Water Lane in Dunnington, footway works on Bishopthorpe Road and Ebor Street, highway maintenance on Yearsley Grove and Whenby Grove in Huntington, utility works on Birkdale Grove and West Bank in Acomb, and gas mains works affecting Wheatfield Lane and surrounding roads in Haxby.

City of York Council said signed diversion routes will be in place where appropriate, with access maintained for residents and emergency services wherever possible.
