Aunt Bessie's product recalled by Lidl over allergy fears

The Food Standards Agency has issued a recall notice for an Aunt Bessie's product sold in budget supermarket Lidl.

The recall notice, issued this month, advised: "Aunt Bessie's is recalling Aunt Bessie's Croquettes because the packs may also include potato balls that contain egg, which is not mentioned on the label.

Customers who think they may have an allergy or intolerance to egg are advised not to eat the product and to return it to the Lidl store from which it was purchased.

Aunt Bessie's has also taken steps to contact relevant allergy support organisations about the recall, so they can inform at risk members, while point of sale notices have been issued to Lidl stores to display.
