Next year's dates have been announced for legendary 1970s rock band Sweet, forced to postpone pre-Christmas UK Tour Hellraiser for a year.
Special guests on the tour are popular Thin Lizzy tribute band Limehouse Lizzy.
By the early ’70s The Sweet were one of the hottest tickets in town.
They enjoyed a string of top ten records in the UK and Europe including Blockbuster, Hellraiser, Ballroom Blitz, Teenage Rampage and The Sixteens.
In 1975 the USA discovered the band with Fox on the Run hitting the number three spot in the Billboard 100. Another self-penned hit Action followed in 1976, firmly establishing Sweet in the US charts.
The album Level Headed, released in 1978, brought with it another award winning million-selling worldwide hit with Love is Like Oxygen, written by Andy Scott.
In 1979 lead singer Brian Connolly left the original line-up leaving Scott, Steve Priest and Mick Tucker to continue as a three-piece.
Connolly and Tucker died in 1997 and 2002 respectively so, with Steve Priest relocating to the USA, Andy Scott was left to fly the flag.
The 2020 line-up features founding member Scott on lead guitar and vocals, Steve Mann on guitar and keyboards, Bruce Bisland on drums and vocals, Lee Small on bass and vocals with Paul Manzi, lead vocals.
