Nobody wants a cold drink ruined by melted ice on a hot day, and Stacey Solomon has shared the gadget she uses to avoid exactly that problem.

As temperatures climb and iced coffees, soft drinks and garden cocktails become a daily ritual, there’s one problem that many people will relate to - melted ice turning your favourite drink into a disappointing watered-down version.

TV presenter and lifestyle favourite Stacey Solomon, who has become an Instagram influencer, has revealed the “life hack” she uses to stop drinks becoming “all watery and gross” during this warmer weather - and it’s one of those gadgets people often wish they’d discovered earlier.

The clever kitchen buy is an ice maker. But, Stacey’s got a clever way of using it. Taking to her Instagram Stories, the star said she had discovered she could put her favourite soft drink in the machine to make ice cubes that match the flavour of the drink she is having. She said she was “so happy” with the result.

If you fancy trying Stacey’s drink-saving trick yourself, you can shop the ice maker here.

The appeal of using an ice maker is pretty obvious once summer arrives. Whether you're sipping an iced coffee while working from home, enjoying a cold glass of rosé in the garden, or trying to keep the kids’ juice chilled during a barbecue, ice helps to keep everything cool and refreshing for longer.

Using Stacey’s trick to help you make flavoured ice cubes will work particularly well for drinks where flavour matters more, such as fruit juices, cocktails or smoothies, where dilution can noticeably alter the taste.

The gadget itself is also one of those small kitchen buys that can end up being used far more than expected - and you’ll be really grateful to have it every time the sun comes out or a heatwave begins. Rather than constantly filling ice trays or running out of ice before guests arrive, this handy machine is ready to use again and again at a moment’s notice.

With warmer weather continuing and more people reaching for iced drinks every day, it’s not difficult to see why Stacey is loving her ice maker, and with just a few clicks you could be enjoying yours too.
