Good food and harp music: Delicious freshly baked goods with stunning views over priory and river

Bolton Abbey’s Tea Cottage is no ordinary café but a destination in its own right in an 18th century haven with breathtaking views of the priory ruins and the River Wharfe.
As we head into spring and summer, now is the time to plan a trip to the Yorkshire Dales to see why everyone is talking about this must-see destination.
With cakes, scones and pastries freshly baked each day, the new management is opening every day except Tuesdays with a warm welcome to tempt you.
And it’s not only the afternoon team, brunch and lunch offerings which are special – they have added the accompaniment of a harpist for the perfect, tranquil experience.

Rob Stephenson, who has taken over the management with his husband Charles Hooper, explains: “This is not your regular tearoom. We are in the most stunning location – I am overlooking rolling countryside with sheep and the priory ruins in front of me.
“We are in the peace and bliss of the Yorkshire Dales and want to offer good food and drink, with music.”
Harp and cream tea events
Musician Charles plays the harp and events are being planned to enjoy cream teas with musical accompaniment.
With a new chef also about to start, the couple also plan to offer evening meals on the patio with music, wine and cocktails during the summer.
