Last chance to protect Bramley Baths and meet fundraising target for Edwardian heritage treasure
Edwardian heritage treasure Bramley Baths needs to reach its £350,000 crowdfunding target by the end of February to help preserve it for the future.
The Leeds jewel needs urgent repairs to restore its roof, as well as install new energy-saving features.
Supporters are being offered a last chance to be part of the fundraising bid and buy shares before Friday 28th February to play their part in helping to protect Leeds’ last Edwardian baths for the future.
Bramley Baths CEO David Wilford said: “There has been a quiet revolution with the community shares model, as a way of ethically raising finance for large projects such as this. People can get involved from as little as £50 and not only own their piece of Bramley history, but also contribute to our sustainability and support our commitment to being carbon neutral by 2030.”
What will my money pay for?
Bramley Baths has been a treasured asset in the local community for over 120 years. It provides swimming, gym and other classes for the community and the project will raise funds to maintain it and carry out vital repairs.
Roof lanterns throughout the building have become damaged over time and leaks risk more problems for the steam room floor, original ironwork in the gym space, pool hall and studio roof.
Bramley Baths is the last remaining, fully functional Edwardian bath house in Leeds. For generations, it has been championed by local residents who have learned to swim, dance and race there – and the fundraising project will help to secure it for the future.
How do I get involved?
Community shares are unique and can’t be sold to anyone else. They are the perfect way to raise money for a large project because the baths can be owned by everyone.
Donation information
For as little as £50 you can have your say in how the baths are run with access to Annual General Meetings, as well as a free swim voucher and chance to feature on their virtual thank you wall.
· For £200 you will also receive a special Bramley Baths pin badge, mug and tote bag to show your support.
· For £500, you will also receive 15% off unlimited monthly membership for you and your family, or team members in your business.
· Or £1,000 will also give you an hour of private pool hire for you and your family or team members.
Can I get my money back?
Yes, after three years you can apply to get your money back or choose to continue with your investment.
In the meantime, you can also choose to receive up to 5% interest on your investment.
