Beckwithshaw given bowling education

Paul Johnston and Paul Malone produced some sparkling bowling to grab an extraordinary victory for Kirkstall Educational over Beckwithshaw.

It looked gloomy for the home side when Yasar Ali (6-30) and Stuart Hudson (4-24) dismissed them for just 109 but then Malone took 4-51 and Johnston weighed in with a 9.3 over spell of 5-22 to bowl out the visitors still six runs short of victory.

That put Kirkstall up to second, level on points with Collingham after a half century from Charlie Fairbanks clinched their victory over Guiseley. Josh Nelson (75no) and Alex Bell (46) put on 67 for the visitors’ first wicket but they were restricted to 169-9 and Fairbanks, with support from Brian Leigh (39) and Ollie Hardaker (34no), made sure of the win.
