The pair batted through the afternoon session to lead Yorkshire to 194-4 after they had been struggling at lunch on 84-4.

Ballance has scored 62 from 131 balls with eight fours, while Rashid has struck 45 from 113 deliveries with seven boundaries.

The pair have added 119 for the fifth wicket in 41 overs to take Yorkshire to within six runs of their first batting point.
