Snell and Leaning maintain run rate
Snell and Leaning had an opening partnership of 257, Snell’s 137 containing 17 fours and four sixes, while Leaning included nine fours and three sixes in his innings of 112.
York totalled a massive 333-3, Ed Morrison claiming all three wickets to fall. Tom Pringle then spun his way to 5-32 as Castleford were sent back for 167 and York won by 166 runs.

Hide AdYorkshire Academy captain Alex Lees set the right example with an undefeated 91 in a 10-wicket victory over Sheffield United who were restricted to 147-6 in their 55 overs.
Sheffield opener Mark Cummins struck a half-century and had a fifth wicket partnership of 84 with Dean Smith, who was left unbeaten on 41. Academy pace-man Ben Coad tied United down, taking 2-7 in his nine overs.
Lees had eight fours and a six in his fine innings for York and co-opener Jon Tattersall hit four boundaries in an undefeated 42.
Harrogate were also 10-wicket winners against Driffield Town, Alex Twigg hoisting a century and Calum How 73.

Hide AdScarborough were eight-wicket victors over Rotherham Town at North Marine Road. Nathan Smith carried his bat for 71 as Rotherham totalled 177-7. Chris Grey took 4-40 for Scarborough then struck an unbeaten half-century along with Darren Harland.
Barnsley bounced back from their opening defeat at Driffield with a 54-run win at Hull, opener Matthew Wilson leading the way with 52 and middle order man Tom Shaw contributing 47 as Barnsley posted 183-8. Ali Jahangir took 4-37 and Callum Bethel (3-22) as Hull were dismissed for 129.
Oliver Pearson had a 5-32 return in Sheffield Collegiate’s 42-run victory over Appleby Frodingham and Bill Kirby made an unbeaten 104 for Cleethorpes who figured in a rain-affected draw at Doncaster Town for whom Simon Widdup and Stuart Guy made half-centuries.
