Watch: Yorkshire cricket club at centre of cheating row after 'clicking' video goes viral
A Yorkshire cricket team has been accused of cheating after video emerged of a fielder allegedly clicking his fingers to mimic the sound of a ball hitting a bat during a match.
An investigation has been launched after a video which was circulated on social media showing a match in the North Yorkshire and South Durham League (NYSD) between Saltburn Cricket Club 2nd XI and Norton Cricket Club 2nd XI.
The video captures the Saltburn slip fielder allegedly clicking his fingers as the batter swings for the ball.
He has been accused of trying to fool the umpire by imitating the sound of the ball clipping the edge of a bat.
The ball is then subsequently caught by the wicket keeper and the bemused player is called out.
Saltburn - who currently sit at the top of the league - ended up winning the match by 159 runs after scoring 302 runs, while Norton managed 143 in reply.
The match took place at Saltburn's home ground in North Yorkshire.
But now the video has emerged on social media other examples appearing to show the same or similar issues have now surfaced.

Rory Cotterill, who captained Middlesbrough CC's 2nd XI in a 29-run defeat to Saltburn earlier this year in June, has also since come out saying a similar situation occurred in that match.
He then shared a video allegedly showing the same player clicking his fingers with commenters describing it as "scandalous".
The NYSD has since posted on social media confirming they received a formal complaint regarding the game which was played last Saturday (July 25).
It read: "The League have received a formal complaint regarding alleged incidents in a Division Two game on Saturday.
"A full investigation has been initiated and until such time as the formal processes are complete no further comment will be made."
The situation has taken social media by storm.
Ben Mummery and X user who brought the situation to light has branded the situation as "click gate".
In a post he said: "Click gate has gone viral and I'm genuinely really happy it's being exposed.
"Harshest possible punishment please. It's not cricket."
He also branded it the "worst case of cheating" he had seen in cricket.
Saltburn Cricket Club have been approached for a comment.
