We left ourselves a bit too much to do with the bat says Yorkshire CCC star Adam Lyth
ADAM LYTH felt Yorkshire left themselves too many runs to chase as they fell to their first defeat in the Vitality Blast.

Yorkshire lost by 56 runs against Gloucestershire at Headingley, ending a sequence of three successive victories to start the competition.
Lyth struck 97 as Yorkshire were bowled out for 161 in 17.4 overs after Gloucestershire scored 217-6.
“I think we were probably chasing maybe 20 too many unfortunately,” said Lyth.
“It was a decent effort but we just kept on losing wickets and it wasn’t to be.
“We didn’t quite get it right with both skills really, but that can happen in T20 cricket.
“We’ve played some good cricket up to this point and days like this can happen; a couple of their lads played really well but we still thought that score was gettable.”
Lyth’s 97 came from just 56 balls with 13 fours and three sixes, with only Will Luxton (20) and Moeen Ali (13) also reaching double-figures.
It was the left-handed opener’s second-highest T20 score behind his Blast record 161 against Northamptonshire at Headingley nine years ago; Lyth has also had two other scores in the format of 90 or more.
“It was a good wicket and I just tried to hit as many as I could,” added Lyth, who was last out when caught on the long-on boundary.
“I was disappointed not to get a hundred - the ball was in the slot to go for six - but it wasn’t to be.
“As I say, we were chasing a little bit too many really, so it was just one of those things.
“It’s on to the next one now, I guess.”
That next one is the small matter of a Roses clash at Headingley on Friday.
“They're the games that you look forward to,” said Lyth. “They're the games that you look out for in the calendar, home and away.
“I’m sure it’ll be packed out and hopefully we can showcase our skills and push on. We’ve got great options with the bat and great options with the ball, so there’s still plenty to be positive about.”
