YORKSHIRE have claimed their first County Championship win for 14 months, beating Derbyshire by three wickets at Chesterfield.

Shan Masood led them home with a captain’s innings of 95 not out and received excellent support from Dom Bess, who made an undefeated 41.

The pair came together after Dawid Malan had fallen to the first delivery of day four, caught by Matthew Lamb at short-leg off Mark Watt, the left-arm spinner.

Yorkshire still required 65 runs at that stage but Masood and Bess added 68 in relatively untroubled fashion, with victory sealed shortly before noon.
