Samuels, 19, arrives at City just four days after netting for his parent club in an EFL Trophy northern group F draw in West Yorkshire, where he showed what he is capable of to his new place of work.

The Midlander, who spent a loan spell at Kidderminster last term, said: “It feels great to be here and I cannot wait to get started. I am looking forward to getting out there and showing our supporters what I can do.

"I am a fast player who likes to get in behind and stretch the backline, and feel like I have good finishing ability.

"After playing against Bradford City earlier in the week, it made me even more eager to come here. They have a great system in place which I am excited to be a part of.”

Samuels represents the 'final piece in the jigsaw' for City chief Stuart McCall, who has professes his delight at landing another forward option.

The teenager could make his debut in Monday's televised derby against Harrogate Town at Valley Parade.

McCall added: "We are delighted to have Austin here and cannot wait to have him properly bedded in.

“I had done a lot of research on him before we played Wolves Under-21s in the EFL Trophy and he had impressed me then, with the way he handled himself in games.

“He has pace, is great at getting in behind and down the sides of defenders and has terrific movement - which is exactly what we were looking for.

“The Wolves staff said he has improved drastically over the past six months and everyone I have spoken to about him has said extremely positive things."
