Barnet 1 Rotherham United 4: Millers rode their luck, admits Moore

TWO quick goals turned this game Rotherham's way when it had most definitely been heading in the wrong direction.

When they added a third shortly afterwards, stunned Barnet could hardly believe that for all their second-half efforts, Rotherham had the points in the bag with 15 minutes to play.

"We were lucky because Barnet had all the chances after half-time," admitted Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore.

"We had to thank a top-class save from Andy Warrington as well when it was goalless. But we were rewarded for the endeavour and our finishing was clinical but I still want to see us tighten our defending."

The action really began right at the start of the second half when Mark Marshall missed a great chance for Barnet.

Then Warrington denied Glen Southam and the effort from the rebound by Clovis Kamdjo hit the bar. Warrington produced a point-blank save to keep out a header from Phil Walsh and Rotherham responded with Kevin Ellison netting from a yard out after Ryan Cresswell's header had hit the bar following a corner.

Substitute Mark Bradley and Nicky Law then set up substitute Tom Pope to score in only his second appearance after a broken foot last April. It was three goals in seven minutes when midfielder Danny Harrison struck from 18 yards from Law's pass.

Mark Byrne pulled one back for Barnet with nine minutes to go but top scorer Adam Le Fondre got in on the act with a couple of minutes left, netting his eighth of the season.
