They were beaten by Stoke City before drawing at Luton Town but couldn't find a way to earn all three points after a 0-0 stalemate with Wigan on Saturday afternoon.

Jack Walton, 7: One decent first half save to thwart Moore and a key finger-tip denied him in the second period. Protected well.

Michael Sollbauer, 7: Brilliant last-ditch tackle prevented Dowell from scoring a certain goal before the break. Missed a big second-half chance.

Mads Andersen, 7: Back to basics and cleared his lines and did not mess about.

Jordan Williams, 7: Made a key block to get in the way of Lowe's second-half effort and was tidy in his defensive duties.

Kilian Ludewig, 6: Spiralled in the air after being felled by a reckless challenge by Robinson. Dusted himself down. Final ball again needs refining, but showed bundles of energy.

Alex Mowatt, 7: Drove Barnsley in trademark fashion. Can hold his head up high whatever happens this season.

Marcel Ritzmaier, 6: Looked more comfortable in the middle, although his set-pieces continued to underwhelm.

Callum Styles, 6: A little rusty early on and bailed out by Sollbauer following a mistake. But kept going and almost won it.

Ellliot Simoes, 6: Posed problems in the pockets and showed spirit and zest. But still a work in progress. Fox saw red after a late challenge on him.

Jacob Brown, 6: Typical energy and threat, but his final option was not convincing.

Cauley Woodrow, 5: Not happy when he came off just after the hour mark and hit out at a hoarding in frustration.
