Barnsley caretaker head coach Paul Heckingbottom said: “Obviously, we’re disappointed with the result but we can’t really be too disappointed with the performance.
“With the ball we played well and created good chances but we are disappointed with their goals.
“That’s why we’ve been winning games we shouldn’t have, because of the organisation and the discipline. One player makes a mistake and another player is in the right slot covering. At times we didn’t do that today.

“About five minutes to go, me and Tommy (Wright) felt comfortable, we both said that if we can score, it’s ours. Obviously, we got that one wrong.
“In all honesty, everything we asked them to do, they did it. Even in the first half when we didn’t create as many chances. The energy was there, the willingness to press high up the pitch was there.”
