The Reds raced into a two-goal lead in the first half with an own goal from Michael Keane and a strike by Chris O’Grady.

Even though Jason Scotland missed a second-half penalty for Barnsley, David Flitcroft’s side were rarely in danger as they sealed a vital win.

The three points takes them out of the relegation zone and above local rivals Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town on goal difference.
