Barnsley FC confident of helping forward Amani Richards realise his potential
AMANI RICHARDS may lack first-team experience but Barnsley believe they can help the forward fulfil his potential at Oakwell.
The 21-year-old has signed on a three-year deal with the Reds, with the club having the option of a further year.
He has spent his time progressing through the academies of Chelsea - where he started out as an apprentice - before spells at Arsenal and then Leicester City, who Barnsley will face in League One this coming season.
His only previous senior experience came while on loan at Exeter City, where he made six appearances and scored one goal in a campaign that ended with The Grecians being relegated to League Two.

Despite his minimal playing time, Reds’ boss Daniel Stendel believes Richards is a player he can develop into an effective attacking option at Oakwell.
"Amani is a player with a lot of energy, speed and potential,” said Stendel, who on Tuesday also signed full-back Tyrese Noslin from Dutch side Telstar
“He likes to play forward, attack defenders and work hard for the team, which are qualities we value highly.
"Despite his young age, he has already experienced different environments at some excellent clubs and has shown that he can adapt and continue improving.
"We believe Barnsley is the right place for him to take the next step in his career, and we are excited to start working with him."
Richards believes he is joining a club and coach who suit his style of play.
"After speaking with the gaffer, I felt this was a great opportunity,” said Richards.
“I love the playing style he's trying to build and I feel like it fits the way that I play as well.
“I'm just happy to be here, excited to see what I can do and help the team as much as possible."
