Roberts: Showed his experience, some decent clearances and displayed character, crowned by late leveller. 7

Earl: Okay, but the first goal that the Reds conceded was disappointing in his area. 5

Cotter: Riproaring start in an advanced role on right. But it didn’t last. 6

Craig: Didn’t dictate and ex-Reds player Scowen was the best central midfielder on view. 5

Connell: Went close with a half-volley in the second half. Involvement in leveller. You wanted more. 5

Lofthouse: First home start in the league and didn’t shine. Not alone. 4.

Keillor-Dunn: Went close early on, but wasn’t the precursor to more. Quiet and looks more at home in a deeper role. 4

Cosgrove: Handed a start. Scored in both games versus Wycombe last season. Worked his backside off, but had little to feed off. Thankless task at times. 6

Substitutes: Jalo (Lofthouse 55). Provided some badly-needed energy and enterprise. 7

Humphrys (Pines 54). Quality strike, much needed. 7

Benson (Keillor-Dunn 70) 6.

Not used: Killip, O’Keeffe, Marsh.
