Ex-Bradford City winger Scott Banks thanks Barnsley after 'really enjoyable' loan stint at Oakwell
Scott Banks has thanked Barnsley for making his time at Oakwell “really enjoyable” following the conclusion of his loan spell.
Barnsley recruited Banks on loan from German outfit St. Pauli in January, just 11 days after he had featured against the Reds for Blackpool.
His stay with the Tangerines was cut short to allow for a switch to South Yorkshire and Banks was a bright spark over the course of his 22 outings for the Reds.
He registered three goals and four assists across his appearances under Conor Hourihane, although his exploits were not enough to fire Barnsley back into play-off contention.

Posting on Instagram, the 24-year-old said: “Would like to thank everyone at Barnsley FC for a really enjoyable spell, wishing everyone all the best and a big thank you to the fans for your support this season.”
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Banks, who does not yet know which division his parent club will be competing in next season. With two games remaining, St. Pauli currently sit in the Bundesliga relegation zone.
If the former Bradford City loanee is deemed surplus to requirements in Hamburg, he will almost certainly have suitors back in Britain.

‘Real quality’
When Barnsley secured his signature in January, then-Reds boss Hourihane said: “Scott is a player we’ve admired for a long time.
"He brings real quality in the final third, but also the versatility and work ethic that fit perfectly with how we want to play.
"He’s shown his ability at every level he's been at and we believe he’ll add another dimension to our attacking options. We’re excited to work with him and see him thrive at Oakwell.”
