Barnsley FC transfers: Defender heads out to Bradford City in cross-Yorkshire move
BRADFORD City have signed Barnsley right-back Corey O’Keeffe on a permanent basis.
He has signed a two-year deal.
O’Keeffe was an unused substitute for the Reds’ opening three games of the 2026-27 campaign under Daniel Stendel amid speculation he could be moved on alongside some other fringe players.
He did score in the recent EFL Cup tie with Crewe Alexandra – and scored a fine goal – and came off the bench as a late substitute in Barnsley’s maiden League One win of the campaign at Leyton Orient on Saturday.

The one-time Birmingham City man has now linked up with City, who signed Adam Phillips earlier in the summer window.
The 28-year-old made 117 appearances for the Reds, scoring on four occasions.
The Midlander spent a loan spell at Stockport County last term, but returned to South Yorkshire in January. He made 23 appearances for County.
O'Keeffe joined Barnsley from Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2023.

He began his career at boyhood club Birmingham and also had spells with Mansfield Town and Rochdale.
On heading to Bradford, O’Keeffe said: “I am delighted, as soon as I head about this opportunity, I told my agent to get it done straightaway.
"This is a massive club and I am really looking forward to it.”
City chief Graham Alexander added: “Corey is versatile and can play on either side of defence. He is an attack-minded player wotj very good quality and will strengthen our options.
