Barnsley up and running after bringing in Leicester City defender Callum Elder on loan

The 22-year-old Sydneysider will provide another much-needed option on the left-hand side of defence, with Aidy White set to be out for an extended spell following a recurrence of a pelvic problem.
Elder has had previous loan spells at Mansfield and Peterborough and also spent a temporary spell at Brentford at the start of this season, making six appearances for the Bees.

Head coach Paul Heckingbottom remains in the market for other signings, with a new striker believed to be on his wanted list, with the Reds head coach also desperate that his leading players remain at Oakwell once the window closes for business at 11pm.
Marc Roberts, Josh Scowen, Marley Watkins and Angus MacDonald have all been the subject of speculation in a month which has seen captain Conor Hourihane, highly-rated defender James Bree and top-scorer Sam Winnall move on.
Elder is the Reds’ fourth incoming season of the window, with Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt arriving late last week for a fee believed to be in the region of £600,000, with James and Everton defender Gethin Jones also coming in until the end of the season on loan.
