Black wants the Bantams to become a more difficult team to break down when going in front with Bradford failing to keep a clean sheet for seven fixtures.

“In the four games we have played, three times we have managed to get our noses in front and we have only taken one point,” said Black.

“It is a concern but the players are well aware of that and if we do go in front we need to make ourselves difficult to play against.

“It takes a lot to go in front and for us to give that away very quickly and very easily, it is frustrating.”

Just three teams in League Two have picked up more points at home than Bradford, who have not lost at Valley Parade since October.

But it is City’s away form that is causing them falter, winning just three of their 18 games on the road this season.

He added: “When you are looking to have aspirations of promotion, you need to win your home games and win your fair share away from home.

“It is something that we want to rectify as soon as possible.”

City will look to get on the front foot early on against an Argyle side unbeaten in four, as Black added: “It is up to us to take the game to Plymouth.

“Hopefully, we can cause them a few problems.

“We have looked at what they have done over the last number of weeks and they are on a decent run of form.”
