FA Cup draw: Bradford City will aim to avoid being Cup ‘victim’, as Blades and Doncaster enjoy home comforts

RENOWNED FA Cup giant-killers Bradford City will aim to avoid receiving a taste of their own medicine in the second round - after being paired with cup fighters Chesham United.

Phil Parkinson’s side will host the Buckinghamshire minnows – who produced one of the shocks of Round One after triumphing 1-0 at League Two side Bristol Rovers – if they beat National League outfit Aldershot in a Valley Parade replay next week.

Chesham currently lie 17th in the Southern League Premier Division, with a 77th-minute strike from Ryan Blake giving them a famous victory against a team 75 places above them in the football pyramid.

For City, it could represent a wholly different dynamic after their exhilarating run to the quarter-finals of the competition last year.

Their exploits culminated in manager Parkinson being named as the LMA’s FA Cup Manager of the Year following victories over Millwall, Chelsea and Sunderland.

Bradford also picked up the Ronnie Radford FA Cup giant killers award for 2014-15 following an incredible 4-2 fourth-round victory at Stamford Bridge after coming back from 2-0 down in arguably the greatest cup shock of all time.

Nigel Adkins’s Sheffield United have been awarded home comforts in round two against either Mansfield Town or Oldham Athletic, who will replay at Boundary Park next week.

Doncaster Rovers have been handed a trip to managerless League Two side Cambridge United, who parted company with Richard Money last week.

Round two ties will be played on the weekend of December 4-7, with the winning sides receiving £27,000.
