But the Shrews turned the game on its head when Jon Taylor equalised within a minute, before Miller beat goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin to leave City shattered.

“It’s a great reaction when we are one 1-0 down and everyone is writing us off,” said Shrews manager Michael Jackson. “It’s appreciated and a credit to all the players’ efforts today.

“When the Bradford goal went in I thought here we go again, but we made changes, passed the ball better and to get level straight away was a great reaction from the players.

“Some very good positives today - they’ve all done great but probably sat a little deep in the second half, but it wasn’t an easy finish to win the game.

“All the players have given us something to think about ready for Tuesday, and I thought we have defended set-plays really well.”
