With four of their next six Championship games being away from home, the psychological benefit of altering that statistic fast should not be understated.

More especially with Town visiting a direct rival tonight.

Not that it will be easy with Huddersfield’s historical record at Derby being abysmal, with no wins in 24 games in all competitions there since November, 1957.

Despite that and having to contend with a difficult surface tonight, head coach Carlos Corberan is hopeful his side’s next away success is close if recent performances are anything to go by.

He said: “I hope it is close. We need to prepare the game with a lot of concentration and play with a lot of determination and try to stop the strengths of our opponents and show our strengths too.

“It would be very positive psychologically for me, but more for our table position.

“That is what I am trying to manage well.

“Sometimes, you have a few problems when you play at home and away. If you analyse our last (away) games, we went to Bristol with our highest intensity to win the game and could not do it and then to Middlesbrough with a high level of determination to go and win the game. We also went to Luton with the same idea.

“But I do not care if we play at home or away, the important thing for me is to add the points that we need as a team.”

Town’s treatment room has another unwelcome addition with key left-back Harry Toffolo sidelined for up to six weeks with a back problem.

Corberan also confirmed that Christopher Schindler has had minor knee surgery and is likely to miss most, if not all, of the remainder of the season – raising the prospect that he may have played his final game for Town with his contract up in the summer.

Huddersfield Town's Christopher Schindler might have played his last game in a Terriers shirt if he doesn't recover from an ankle injury before the end of the current season. Jonathan Hogg (calf) is a doubt tonight, while Rarmani Edmonds-Green could be involved for a short spell from the bench alongside Richard Stearman.

Last six games: Derby WWLWWL; Huddersfield LDDLLW.

Referee: G Eltringham (Tyne & Wear).
