Doncaster Rovers chief executive Gavin Baldwin pledges that the club remains financially resilient amid the coronavirus crisis

DONCASTER ROVERS chief executive Gavin Baldwin has stressed the club's hierarchy will provide additional revenue streams to offset the loss of matchday revenue in the light of the coronavirus pandemic - and keep the League One outfit on a solid financial footing.

Like every other League One club, Rovers are 'crunching the numbers' when football on lockdown until April 3 at least, but believe that other EFL clubs in the bottom two tiers will probably feel the pinch more.

Baldwin said: "Obviously it’s not ideal, we missed out on our biggest chance of revenue in the month but there are clubs out with more home games they will miss out on than us - we only have three left here at the Keepmoat Stadium.

"But we have other revenue streams which other clubs perhaps do not have the benefit of, which makes us more resilient.

"We’re still crunching the numbers but are in a position where we can still act positively throughout this period.”

The Club Doncaster Sports Park remains open for business with extra safety measures, with Baldwin pledging that the Club Doncaster sporting umbrella will intend to do all they can to protect and help the wider community.

He continued: "It is a really fast-moving situation and have taken steps, including ordering extra dispensers for hand sanitiser and towels, plus put in place more frequent routine cleaning of public-facing areas.

"We have had regular meetings of senior club staff to make sure we are ready to react to any changes of advice from the Government or governing bodies.

"And we want to be more than that - we want to help the community. We’re not sure yet exactly how that will look, and are drawing up plans now.”

Rovers have confirmed that players will remain off training until Thursday, with loanee Ben Sheaf - who visited parent club Arsenal's training ground last Tuesday - self-isolating alongside other Gunners players on their club's advice.

The Rovers chief executive added: "Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve asked our players to not report for training until Thursday, though to be clear Ben has not displayed any symptoms.

"Looking after the health of all our staff is obviously the most important thing to us, and we’ll continue to follow the advice of medical professionals, the Government and governing bodies."
