Doncaster Rovers transfer news: Another League Two loan for Bobby Faulkner
Bobby Faulkner has joined Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan in League Two as he looks to build on last season's good work at Harrogate Town.
The Doncaster Rovers defender joined Harrogate for the 2025-26 campaign and was a key figure for the Sulphurites until suffering a hamstring injury in November.
Even though they revamped their backline in his absence, once he returned to fitness, Faulkner started the final three games of the season but although Harrogate won the first two, they were unable to escape relegation from the Football League.
Rovers were keen for the 21-year-old to continue his education in League Two, and have therefore loaned him to Tranmere, who are managed by former Barnsley boss Darrell Clarke.

“It feels really good to join Tranmere Rovers," said Faulkner.
“It’s always better when you know players at a club; you come in and you can gel together with a couple of the lads. It’s really good to see Jacob Slater (who was also at Harrogate last season) again, and I know Joe Ironside as well from his time at Doncaster.”
Faulkner's previous loans had come outside of English league football, with Spennymoor Town, Dundalk and Buxton.
Clarke said of the new addition: “We're really pleased to bring Bobby into the football club. He's a young defender with good qualities and he's had a taste of senior football.

“He comes here with the hunger to play games and continue improving. He'll add competition and depth to the squad, and it's now up to him to work hard every day, earn his opportunities, and show our supporters what he can do.
“I'd like to thank Doncaster Rovers for their cooperation in getting the deal done, and we're looking forward to working with Bobby during his time with us."
Tranmere are at Rotherham United on September 1.
