Midfielder John Oster (neck) was named a substitute but Martin Woods (groin) and Pascal Chimbonda (thigh) were still sidelined along with goalkeeper Neil Sullivan, defenders George Friend and Rachid Bouhenna, midfielder Paul Keegan, and striker Chris Brown.

Rovers were behind on 26 minutes when Chris Wood netted for the hosts, before Kalifa Cisse added a second seven minutes later.

Habib Beye was sent off to Rovers, before El-Hadji Diouf pulled a goal back with 15 minutes remaining.
