Doncaster Rovers have today signed defender Craig Alcock on a month’s loan from Sheffield United.

The former Peterborough United player is reunited with ex-boss Darren Ferguson who took him to London Road from Yeovil Town in July 2011.

Alcock was a virtual ever present for The Posh during his three year stay in Cambridgeshire – where he made in excess of 100 appearances and won the Football League Trophy in 2014 – before moving on a free transfer to the Blades.

The 27 year old’s latest appearance at Bramall Lane was in the 3-1 defeat of Rovers and he could make his first appearance when Rovers travel to face Blackpool on Saturday.

Alcock will wear the number 38 shirt during his stay at Keepmoat Stadium.
