MISFIRING Doncaster Rovers blew their chance to close the gap on league leaders Lincoln.

Jason Lokilo’s first-ever professional goal after just eight minutes gave the visitors the perfect start.

But skipper Paddy Madden fired battling Fleetwood to their first league win for nearly two months.

Belgian Lokilo rifled Rovers ahead but Darren Moore saw his side’s five-game unbeaten run frustratingly ended following a spirited fightback from the hosts.

Rotherham loan hitman Kyle Vassell equalised for Simon Grayson’s side with his first goal for the club.

And it got even better when Madden capitalised on an error from Madger Gomes and shot-stopper Ellery Balcome. Gomes left Balcome short with a weak back-pass and Madden rounded the keeper to become Fleetwood’s all-time record league goalscorer.His first goal for nearly a month saw him leapfrog David Ball to 42 league goals for the hosts.

Fejiri Okenabirhie headed inches wide and Cameron John was thwarted by a superb reaction save from goalkeeper Alex Cairns late on as Rovers went close to levelling.

But former Rovers full-back Danny Andrew sealed the deal against his old club with a 30-yard screamer with two minutes left.
